Five kilometres away from Patitiri  a small, graded track leads to a hillside of olive trees above the sea on the island’s secluded west coast. Views across the sea to Skopelos are stunning. These are more difficult to reach and often require some walking and climbing, but are worth the effort. The beautiful waters around this island are crystal clear, often with pine forests reaching down to the exceptional and unspoilt beaches. MEGALI AMMOS is for most people the most isolated, interesting place on the north side of the island. However, it is neither big nor sandy. It is just the name of a region with wild natural beauty where you will find a few beautiful unspoiled beaches. For some lovers of exploring virgin nature we recommend visiting this place. You can go there by jeep or motorbike because the road is rough, 5 km from Patitiri.
